BOARD NEWS

The Board met via ZOOM on April 25, to review completed projects and plan for those still on the agenda for 2024.

Scheduling for the installation of the playground project will require coordinating the ordering of the equipment to arrive once the site is prepared to receivie it.  The first stage will be to grade and level the site.  The proposed location of the playground is the area west of the clubhouse between the tennis court and Towne Point Avenue.  The intent for using this location is to keep the large field to the north of the clubhouse open for other activities and events.

Once the grading is complete, the project should be completed fairly quickly. There will be a three foot fence around the area, a couple of park benches within the enclosed area, pea gravel or other soft strata laid down once the playground equipment is installed.

Target date for completion is late May to early June.  Board is reaching out to members with children who will benefit from this equipment to volunteer their time and effort to facilitate this project.  It will take several people to erect and install the equipment.

Other business discussed was the use of the storage yard for storage of oversize recreational vehicles, boats, trailers, etc. Possibly updating the policy for approved size of such equipment being parked at residences.

Also discussed was improving lighing for security at the storage yard.  Use of solar lighting vs new electrical installation and cost feasibility.  More research will be conducted to explore cost effectiveness.

Financial issues discussed included exploring CD products from other banking sources for best rate to park reserve funds for a minimum of six months.

Discovery Road project - there is some concern regarding the access to the entrance to Towne Point.  It will be proposed to the city that they modify the corner curbs at the entrance which now are a right angle turn.  The concern is that the road is very narrow and making that tight turn is difficult particularly for large vehicles.  Zory has been in touch with the city regarding this issue and she and Bill will meet with the fire department at that site to review this safety issue.

The issue of rental properties was discussed.  The owners of rental properties for the most part do not submit to the Board the names and contact information for their tenants as required by the Towne Point Owners Handbook.  There will be a review of these policies as well as legal options for enforcing them.

The next ZOOM meeting will be on May 30th to set an agenda for the June General Membership meeting.

STORAGE AREA IS OPEN

If you are interested in storing a vehicle, boat, etc. you can download the Agreement and Rules & Regulations on the website or get them from the office during office hours.

UPDATE 4/25/2024: Tentatively scheduled to start in late May.  We are hoping that some of the dads out there will volunteer to help install the equipment because it will take several people to put it together and install it.  Contact the office if you would like to volunteer a few hours on a weekend to help get it done.
The   GoFundMe page includes a picture of the proposed equipment. It is hoped that the membership will contribute to the fund here and by supporting fundraising efforts through the Hospitality Committee events. The labor and maintenance will be performed by volunteers.  The cost of additional insurance is $40 per year.
